First Tapping
Each spring WWMPSPA members invite local dignitaries to attend our cermonial first tapping cermony. This is a celbration of the annual right of spring and involves tapping a tree with an old fashion brace and bit, followed by a delcious brunch of pancakes, sasuage and of course lots of maple syrup. This year the event is scheduled to take place Friday February 27th atGeorge L. Martins - 2044 Lobsinger Line, RR 1 Waterloo, ON N2J 4G8

Every Winter we host a one day workshop for producers and vendors to come and here the latest from the OMSPA executive and news, food saftey news technical experts. This year's meeting is taking place on Thursday January 8th, 2015 at the St. Jacobs Communiy Centre

WOWE Saturday
In November the WWMAPA partnered with the Ontario Woodlot Association to host the first annual Western Ontario Woodlot Expo (WOWE) . The day combined information on maple and woodliot management. The morning session had partcipants travel to the woodlot to experience maple tubing installation and discuss woodlot management for timber production. the afternoon session had expert speakers discuss chainsaw safety, woodlot pest management and government grants. There was something for everyone at this fun event
